For the past few months, I’ve been working on a new clothing brand. It’s been a lot of trial and error, scraping things I don’t end up liking, bringing those scrapped pieces back into the mix and reworking them, etc. If you didn’t already know, I owned a clothing brand called Silence the City Clothing. I started it with a friend back in college out of boredom. We didn’t know what we were doing and both of us soon grew out of it and lost interest. Now that I have 4 years of running a clothing line under my belt, I feel that I can use that experience to create something better, more cohesive and have a story behind it.
I’ve been experimenting with the handmade look lately and the only way to really do that is to actually do it by hand. I’ve been loving the results. A few of the pieces that will be released in the new brand have been created using linocut block printing, pen and ink, stamps and even sharpie markers. I’m only used to working on the computer, so this is a big change for me.
I’m so excited to release everything and show you all what I’ve been working on!
